Japanese Children's Day
Shichi-go-san, Hinamatsuri (Doll's day) and Tango no seku (Boy's Festival) are all traditional Japanese event to celebrate children's growth. Hinamatsuri is for girls, Tango no seku is for boys, and Shichi-go-san is a festival for boys aged three and five, and girls aged three and seven. In these days, children dress up in kimono, dresses or suits, and their families go to shrines and pray for the healthy growth and happniess of their children.
